A 12-member committee comprising young filmmakers and film students has been appointed to undertake the initial selection of films submitted to the International Competition of the 2nd Iran Open-Air International Film Festival

According to the Public Relations Office of the 2nd Iran Open-Air International Film Festival, the Initial Selection Committee consists of Mahdis Bagheian, Hasti Poursaadat, Parisa Sanaei, Maryam Gholami, Negin Makian, Varesh Vahedian, Mahshad Vali, Ghazaleh Yaraqi, Arash Babaki, Behnam Najmoldin, Sina Rajabi, and Meysam Mohammadkhan
The committee is responsible for reviewing and making the initial selection of films submitted to the festival’s International Competition
The committee members were selected from among students in various fields who responded to an open call issued by the festival inviting young applicants to participate in the film selection process
The festival received 1,318 submissions for its International Competition, *furthering its mission of fostering cultural exchange and dialogue between filmmakers from Iran and around the world, while showcasing films in an open-air setting*
The 2nd Iran Open-Air International Film Festival, founded and presided over by Saeed Nejati and directed by Siavash Cheraghipour, will be held in September 2026 in northern Iran
